In memoriam
A memorial Mass for Dr. Rubilinda “Ruby” Casino will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Oratory of Sts. Gregory and Augustine. A vigil Mass also will be celebrated at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Ascension Church in Chesterfield. Casino died Oct. 1 at the age of 69.
As a physician, she served more than 2,000 patients in the greater St. Louis area through her private practice, JMJ Medical, where she cared for many priests, women religious and congregations in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She also served in medical missions in the U.S. and the Philippines. Casino and her late husband, Noel, began a chapter of the Alliance of the Two Hearts, a pontifical lay movement, where they assisted in the enthronement of more than 1,000 homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. In September, Casino was given the Catholic Woman of the Year Award from the St. Joseph Evangelization Network. She is survived by her two children, Joseph Noel (Jono) Casino and Sister Mary Gianna Casino (Cherubimaris), LIHM.
