Evening prayer with the SSNDs
The North American Vocation Team of the School Sisters of Notre Dame invites young adults ages 18 and older to a monthly online evening prayer on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Dates for evening prayer in the first half of 2025 are Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 25, April 22, May 27 and June 24. More information and registration for the Zoom links is available at ssnd.org/events/. The online prayer typically lasts about an hour. Participants experience evening prayer in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours, with additional time for faith sharing in small groups.
Synod listening session
All are invited to a special synod listening session hosted by the Archdiocese of St. Louis from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive in Shrewsbury. During the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, participants will reflect on the path traveled during the synod process and hear a report on its progress thus far. Signs of Hope
Father Mike Lydon, episcopal vicar for the Southern Vicariate, and Jennifer Meehan, Southern Vicariate pastoral ministry coordinator, will present Signs of Hope: A morning of reflection to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope from 8:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Hillsboro Knights of Columbus Hall, 9330 Old Missouri 21. Catholic social teaching series
Ann Hammer, social outreach coordinator for the archdiocese’s Western Vicariate, will host an interactive series on the seven principles of Catholic social teaching on Monday nights at St. Alban Roe Church (Mikesch Hall), 2001 Shepard Road in Wildwood. Each session will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 3, 10, 17 and 24.
Retreat for expectant fathers
Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries will host its first retreat for expecting and young fathers from Feb. 21-23 at Il Ritiro Retreat Center in Dittmer. The retreat is free and open to any expecting or new dad with children up to 3 years old. Registration is open; visit gabrielsretreat.org/6-2/retreats to learn more or sign up.
Marriage on Tap
Worldwide Marriage Encounter will host Marriage on Tap STL, an evening of dinner and marriage enrichment at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Syberg’s on Dorsett in Maryland Heights. Guest speakers will be Bill and Lauren Fogarty of Most Sacred Heart Parish in Eureka, who will speak on “Hold On … God’s Unconditional Love and the Power of Prayer.” Dinner is $66 per couple/$33 per person.
