The Vatican’s Dicastery for the Clergy has rejected an appeal from St. Bernadette Parish in Lemay, upholding Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski’s decree in which St. Bernadette was subsumed by St. Mark in Lemay on Aug. 1, 2023. Father Robert Burkemper serves as pastor of St. Mark and St. Martin of Tours in Lemay.
The Dicastery for the Clergy also rejected an appeal from St. Anges Parish in Bloomsdale, upholding Archbishop Rozanski’s decree in which St. Agnes subsumed St. Lawrence Parish in Lawrenceton. However, the faithful of St. Lawrence Parish are still awaiting a decision from the Vatican following an appeal of the parish’s suppression. Father Ryan Weber serves as pastor of St. Agnes and St. Lawrence.
