A Cup of Joe for others
St. Joseph’s Academy student-run coffee shop, Cup of Joe, recently presented donation checks totalling $10,000 to four local nonprofit organizations. Cup of Joe is part of the academy’s entrepreneurial program and provides students the knowledge to run a business through innovative leadership.
Donations of $2,500 each were given to Saint Martha’s Hall (a Catholic Charities of St. Louis federated agency), Dream Factory of St Louis, International Institute of St. Louis and St. Joseph’s Academy Scholarships.
St. Anthony in High Ridge celebrates 100 years
St. Anthony of Padua Parish in High Ridge marked its 100th anniversary with a celebratory Mass and dinner on May 14. Almost 300 people attended the centennial Mass celebrated by Bishop Mark Rivituso, followed by a catered dinner and social time organized by the St. Anthony parish council. Theology on Tap Summer Six Pack
St. Louis Young Adults’ “Summer Six Pack” Theology on Tap series kicks off on Tuesday, May 24. The weekly series, running through Aug. 9, will focus on the Eucharist, in accordance with the launch of the U.S. Eucharistic Revivial in June. The first session, “Bother the Fathers,” will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at the Kapaun Center on the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary campus in Shrewsbury. The evening will be an open Q&A session with Father Charlie Archer, Father Mitchell Baer and Father Ryan Truss. Drinks will be available for purchase. Purified
Catholic speaker Jason Evert will be at Sacred Heart Parish in Valley Park on Thursday, May 26, to present “Purified,” an event for families with children ages 13 and older on the topic of chastity. The evening includes a chastity presentation for teens and parents, the sacrament of reconciliation, eucharistic adoration and resources for families. Tickets are $20. Eucharistic presentations
“The Eucharist: Mystery of Presence, Sacrifice and Communion,” a yearlong series of monthly presentations on the Eucharist by Dr. Lawrence Feingold, will kick off Thursday, June 2, from 7-8 p.m. at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. Each monthly presentation will be held on different dates at several locations throughout the archdiocese and will be available in English and Spanish. Feingold is an associate professor of theology and philosophy at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and the author of several books related to the Eucharist. Presentations at St. Cletus
The St. Cletus Legion of Mary is hosting two presentations, “Sacred Cloths of the Passion,” and “Life After Life,” on Saturday, June 4, in the St. Cletus School gymnasium, 2705 Zumbehl Road in St. Charles. “Life after Life,” which will take place at 9 a.m., will address what happens after death and near-death experiences; “Sacred Cloths of the Passion,” scheduled for 10:45 a.m., will explore the burial cloths associated with Jesus, including the Shroud of Turin, Sudarium of Oviedo and Tunic of Argenteuil. North City Deanery Revival
The North City Deanery Interracial Relations Committee is sponsoring a revival, “For a Synodal Church: That All May Be One!” on Monday and Tuesday, June 6 and 7, at St. Matthew the Apostle Parish, 2715 N. Sarah St. in St. Louis. Revivalist is Father A. Gerard Jordan, O. Praem, a consecrated religious, canon and a priest of the Order of Canons Regular Prémontré. Each evening will begin with praise and worship at 6:15 p.m., followed by the program at 6:30.
Father Jordan is a titular canon of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and is entitled to the privileges of that office as he does the work of that ministry here in the Americas in all Catholic social settings and social justice circles. He is one of only four African-American men in the United States who are ordained canons and the only African-American priest in the United States who is both a religious canon and a secular canon. He currently serves in the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Conversation with School Sisters of Notre Dame
The North American Vocation Team of the School Sisters of Notre Dame is hosting an online “Joyful & Alive Conversation” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, for single women ages 18-45 interested in discerning God’s will for their lives or who are curious about religious life. Retreat for pregnant mothers
Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries will hold a retreat for women facing unexpected pregnancies of any kind from June 10-12 at the La Salle Retreat Center in Wildwood. Gabriel’s Retreats are specifically designed to help any woman facing the challenges of any unexpected pregnancy find support, hope and peace. The retreat is open to any expecting mother age 18 or older, and there is no cost to attend.
Retreats will also be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the La Salle Retreat Center and Dec. 27-29 at the Marianist Retreat Center. To learn more or register, visit gabrielsretreat.org.
Fatima Days celebration
The Congregation Messengers of Fatima will host its sixth annual Fatima Days from June 23-26 at the congregation’s campus, 150 Hwy WW in St. Clair. This year’s theme is “My Immaculate Heart is your refuge.” Activities will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 23, and conclude with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 26. The celebration will include Masses celebrated by Bishop Mark Rivituso and Archbishop Emeritus Robert Carlson, talks on a range of topics related to the Blessed Mother and her Immaculate Heart, a procession in honor of Our Lady of Fatima, the sacrament of confession in both English and Vietnamese, youth activities and meals.
