Obituary | Sr. Constance “Connie” Heun, CSJ
Sister Constance “Connie” Heun, a retired educator, died May 31 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis at age 86.
Born in St. Louis, she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1951 and was received into the novitiate in 1952 as Sister Mary Doris. She made her final profession in 1959.
Sister Connie received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fontbonne University in 1960. She taught at schools in Hawaii, Denver and Missouri, including St. Thomas of Aquin from 1954-59, All Saints from 1959-60 and St. Edward from 1967-71 in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
She also served nearly 20 years as an audio visual coordinator/librarian at a school in Denver and at St. Gregory School from 1978-79, St. Adalbert from 1979-84 and St. Anthony of Padua from 1985-97, all in the St. Louis Archdiocese.
From 1997 to 2005, Sister Connie worked in the development office for the St. Louis province. In 2006, she began an 11-year ministry of volunteer service at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. Sister Connie retired to Nazareth Living Center in 2018.
