Obituary | Sr. Elizabeth Klutho, SSND
A memorial Mass for Sister Elizabeth Klutho was celebrated June 2 in the School Sisters of Notre Dame Theresa Center chapel in south St. Louis County.
Sister Elizabeth died May 29 at Anna House in Bridgeton. She was 83 and a retired teacher.
Born in Breese, Ill., Sister Elizabeth entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1956. She professed first vows in 1958 and final vows in 1964.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1960 from the former Notre Dame College in St. Louis and a master’s degree in business education in 1971 from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark.
Sister Elizabeth began her teaching career in Knoxville, Iowa. She also taught in Texas, Illinois and Cape Girardeau, Mo. In the Archdiocese of St. Louis, she taught at St. Frances de Sales and Notre Dame high schools. She also volunteered at Notre Dame High School. She moved to Anna House at the Sarah Community in Bridgeton in 2017.
She has no immediate survivors. Burial was in the Sancta Maria in Ripa cemetery at the motherhouse.
