On the campus of the St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville stands the log cabin of Bishop Joseph Rosati, the first bishop of the Diocese of St. Louis. Bishop Rosati, himself a Vincentian priest, came with a group of Vincentians in 1818 and spent time living and working on establishing the seminary for priests there.

Vincentian Brother Rick Zoellner talks about the early days of St. Mary's history at the Barrens.
