This solemn act of Installation includes the reading of the Apostolic Letter from His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI. The Apostolic Letter is read by Monsignor Alexander Cifuentes Castano, J.C.D., representative of the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, and shown to the Archdiocesan College of Consultors. At the conclusion, all respond “Thanks be to God.” Finally, Archbishop Robert J. Carlson invited to the Cathedra by Archbishop emeritus Justin Cardinal Rigali, then given the Crosier by Archbishop emeritus Raymond L. Burke. The Crosier signifies his responsibility as teacher and shepherd of the flock.
