St. John Vianney High School rode a first-half goal by Jason Grant to a 1-0 victory over Christian Brothers College High School Oct. 23 at Vianney's field in Kirkwood. Sam Haseltine had the shutout in goal.
Chaminade's 2-0 win vs. St. Louis University High the same day earned Vianney a share of the 2010 Metro Catholic Conference title.
Vianney, 16-6-2 on the year, was to play Burroughs on Oct. 26 before heading into districts Oct. 30.
CBC fell to 17-5-2 on the year before heading into games Oct. 26 vs. Oakville, Oct. 27 vs. Fort Zumwalt South and Oct. 28 vs. St. Louis University High.
