Social Concerns Director -- Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word

Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word seek a full time Congregation Social Concerns Director.

This high profile position oversees the Congregation's commitment to social justice. Essential duties include facilitating the work of the Congregation’s social justice focus and taking leadership in advancing the Congregation's justice work through social media, planning of workshops and working with the Treasurer and the Director of Investments to implement the Congregation's Socially Responsible Investment Program. The position represents the Congregation at local, national and international justice related organizations.

Major focus issues of the Congregation include Social and Economic Justice; Ecological Integrity, Empowerment of Women; Human Trafficking and Immigration.

Requirements:

  • An understanding and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, fluency in English and a working knowledge of Spanish.
  • A minimum five years' experience leading or directing the development of social
    justice initiatives or programs
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in another culture preferred
  • Willingness to travel internationally preferred
