St. Joseph's Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission at the Academy is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. SJA is seeking applicants for the following position for the 2017-2018 school year:

Part-time Business Education Faculty

The part-time business education faculty member will join with the rest of the department in working towards the goal of providing the opportunity, atmosphere, and education for students to grow in their understanding of the business skills needed in the 21st Century business world.  Responsibilities include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student learning, and classroom management. The course taught in the 2017-2018 Academic year will be multiple sections of Personal Finance.  Course assignments in the future could include:  Accounting I and II, Business Law and ethics, Video Production, Entrepreneurship, Foundations of Business and Digital Literacy.  Must be proficient with Google Docs and Google Drive as well as other digital tools such as MovieMaker, Audacity and Prezi.  Part-time faculty member are expected to be present at all department and faculty meetings.  Four year degree in business education, masters preferred. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience preferred.

Science Teacher

Seeking a science teacher for long-term substitute for the fall 2017 semester.  This teacher will teach freshman earth and environmental science, and will be responsible for providing grade appropriate instruction, lesson planning and assessments of each student’s performance including testing, report cards and parent teacher conferences.  The position begins on August 1, 2017. Bachelor’s degree is required.  Major or minor in content area is required.  Master’s degree is preferred. Three to five years teaching experience preferred. Missouri teacher certification required.
