Knowing God and knowing self are interconnected. To deepen one’s relationship with God, one must continually examine one’s image of God as well as one’s own self-image. The facilitator invites participants to explore how one’s God images and self-image are impacted by their family experience. The facilitator, Hsin-hsin Huang, PhD, will discuss how psychological wounding and shame interfere with the ability to feel God’s love. Through the two-day retreat, participants are invited to move from fear to faith and authenticity.

Dr. Hsin-hsin Huang is Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Aquinas Institute of Theology. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling & Counselor Education from University of Missouri – St. Louis.  Dr. Huang has been a practicing pastoral psychotherapist since 1999, with extensive theological education and pastoral counseling training.
