Have faith, St. Louis sports fans. The Houston Astros baseball team began in 1962, and it took them 55 years to win the World Series. That brings hope for the St. Louis Blues, which became an NHL franchise in 1967.

Stastny and Butler returned to their hometown in July, choosing to sign as free agents with their favorite team growing up. Stastny, 28, fills a hole at the top of the Blues' lineup; he's top-flight talent, skilled offensively and solid defensively. Butler, 27, is a steady, stay-at-home type and gives the Blues depth at a crucial position.
