OBITUARY | Sr. Dorothy Scheopner, SL

A funeral Mass for Loretto Sister Dorothy (formerly Sister Mary Stephanie) Scheopner was celebrated Oct. 28 at the Church of the Seven Dolors at the Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky.

Sister Dorothy, who taught and tutored for 21 years in the St. Louis Archdiocese, died Oct. 16 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was 82 and in her 60th year as a Sister of Loretto at the Foot of the Cross.

OBITUARY | Sr. Roseanne Thornton, SL

A funeral Mass for Loretto Sister Roseanne (formerly Sister Rose Maura) Thornton was celebrated Oct. 10 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky.

Sister Roseanne served for nearly four decades as a kitchen and nurse's assistant and as an educator. She died Oct. 7 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was 78.

A funeral Mass for Loretto Sister Katherine Misbauer was celebrated Oct. 7 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky.

Sister Katherine, who served as assistant principal from 1970-74 and registrar from 1993-98 at Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, died Oct. 1 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was 78.

A funeral Mass for Loretto Sister Mary Joyce Reasoner was celebrated Sept. 18 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky. She died Sept. 14 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

Sister Mary Joyce was a teacher for 55 years, including 20 years at Mary Queen of Peace in Webster Groves. She was 86 and in her 69th year as a Sister of Loretto at the Foot of the Cross.

Obituary | Sr. Marian Andrews, SL

A funeral Mass was celebrated for Sister Marian Andrews, SL, Feb. 18 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky. Sister Marian, 92, died Feb. 13 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was in her 68th year as a Sister of Loretto at the Foot of the Cross.

Obituary | Sister Lois Zeis, SL

A memorial Mass for Loretto Sister Lois Zeis was celebrated Sept. 30 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky. A teacher and social worker, Sister Lois died Sept. 27 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was 91.

Born in St. Louis and baptized Irene Ann Zeis, she attended St. Philip Neri School and St. Alphonsus High School, both in St. Louis. She earned a bachelor's degree in sociology, with minors in English and philosophy, from Webster University in Webster Groves in 1946 and began teaching at Notre Dame High School in St. Louis.
