10-year-old's dream to attend March for Life comes true

Meghan Meehan led the Missouri Life Caravan procession Jan. 22 at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.

You'd think Meghan Meehan won a trip to Walt Disney World.

But no, this was better.

Meghan and her mother, Jennifer Meehan, traveled with the Missouri Life Caravan to the 42nd annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., last week. It was the first time the 10-year-old went to the march, a dream of hers since she made a New Year's resolution in 2014 to stop abortion.

Conceived in rape, Ryan Bomberger shares message of unity, diversity

Ryan Bomberger, founder of The Radiance Foundation, spoke to GenLifeSTL youth Jan. 23. Bomberger, a product of rape, was adopted and given the chance to live and be loved because his birth mother chose life.

Wearing a T-shirt with the hashtag #AllLivesMatter, Ryan Bomberger took to a stage in front of 2,000 teens to explain why he was wearing that message on his shirt.

"I am the 1 percent that is used to justify 100 percent of abortion," said Bomberger, who spoke to St. Louis teens attending the archdiocesan Office of Youth Ministry's Generation Life pilgrimage in Washington D.C.

St. Anthony School students bring life-affirming message to small town Sullivan

While thousands of young people from the St. Louis Archdiocese were in Washington D.C., for the annual March for Life Jan. 22, students from St. Anthony School decided to bring the march to their hometown of Sullivan as a sign of their unity on the very same day.

Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and Auxiliary Bishop Edward M. Rice will be in Washington, D.C., this week for events surrounding the Pro-Life March. Approximately 2,000 teenagers from the Archdiocese of St. Louis also will be there as part of the Generation Life pilgrimage. Catholics in St. Louis to mark anniversary of Roe vs. Wade decision

This year marks the 42nd anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion virtually on demand in the United States. Thousands from the St. Louis Archdiocese are expected to attend the annual March for Life Thursday, Jan. 22, in Washington, D.C.

Archbishop Robert J. Carlson will celebrate the annual memorial Mass and prayer vigil at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The Mass coincides with the monthly Helpers of God's Precious Infants Mass. Afterward, there will be a Rosary procession to the nearby Planned Parenthood abortion facility.
