Stress hope, bishop tells Hispanic community

Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento, Calif., listened to Leticia Seitz of Latinos en Axion during a recent visit to St. Louis. Bishop Soto is the chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Subcommittee on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. He later addressed the CCHD’s work with immigrants at the Aquinas Lecture.

Bishop Jaime Soto leaned in to listen to the woman detail her recent communication with U.S. immigration authorities.

Though his visit wasn't about personal struggles, he gave the woman his complete attention, letting her talk and then giving her reassurances of support.
