Character is the key for Ursuline athletes' success

Ursuline Academy tennis player Sarah Dreyer returned a shot in a match against Mehville High School during the Webster Groves Invitational Tournament, a section of which was played at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton.

When they step on the court, members of Ursuline Academy's tennis team are dedicated to toughness, selflessness and being a good person -- traits that translate off the court as well.

The focus for the school's athletic teams is on character, though winning often is a consequence of the way players act. For the tennis team, things are clicking along, as shown by the way they conduct themselves and with an 8-1 start partway through the Webster Groves High School tournament. It's their best start to a season in at least 17 years.
