A memorial Mass for Sister Mary William Sullivan was to be celebrated at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in Marian Chapel at The Sarah Community in Bridgeton, with memory sharing at 4 p.m. Sister Mary William died July 23. She was 92 and was a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 73 years.

Born in 1925 and baptized Florence Ann, Sister Mary William was a 1943 graduate of Xavier High School in St. Louis, earned a bachelor's in education from Fontbonne College in 1951 and earned a master's in social work from The Catholic University of American in Washington, D.C., in 1955.

About 350,000 people of various denominations gathered July 16 on the National Mall for “Together 2016” to celebrate faith in Jesus.

WASHINGTON — About 350,000 people of all faiths gathered on the National Mall July 16 for "Together 2016" to declare that Jesus changes everything and asking Him to "reset the generation."

To enter the event, held near the Washington Monument, people lined up outside the gates for what seemed like miles.

"Together 2016" lasted from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Originally, the event was scheduled to last until 9 p.m., but some news reports said that local officials had requested it end earlier because of the high heat index.
