HB174 passes through committee

The Missouri House Legislative Oversight Committee on March 13 passed HB174. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Tila Hubrecht (R-Dexter), would acknowledge the rights of alternatives-to-abortion agencies, such as pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes, to freely assemble and engage in religious practices or speech without government interference. Students from All Saints school in St. Peters celebrated their work collecting canned goods for St. Patrick Center.  Their campaign "Go Green for St. Pat's" brought in 1,100 cans of green vegetables. "We are especially proud of our student initiatives and the work our students do to help others," said the principal, Deborah R. Hake. Canned goods will be delivered to St. Patrick Center.
