North County Catholic elementary schools raised $8,235 for hurricane relief efforts. Students made the donation to Catholic Charities of St. Louis Sept. 27 at a ceremony at SSM Health DePaul Hospital. The North County Federation of Catholic Schools includes Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Christ Light of the Nations, Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Sacred Heart, St. Ann, St. Ferdinand, St. Norbert, St. Rose Philippine Duchesne and the Academy at St. Sabina.

Tenor to sing for the Blues

Catholic tenor Scott Kennebeck was among nine people chosen to perform the National Anthem in a competition hosted by the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Kennebeck, a cantor at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis and executive director of St. Louis Cathedral Concerts, was chosen from more than 650 people who auditioned last month. He will sing the "Star Spangled Banner" and "O Canada" at the Blues vs. the Montreal Canadiens game Jan. 30, 2018.
