Archbishop Robert J. Carlson has made the following appointments:

Deacon Thomas E. Forster, assistant to the director for life and ministry and assisting the pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Valley Park, is appointed to assist the pastor of Annunciation Parish in Webster Groves, while continuing in the Permanent Diaconate Office as assistant to the director for life and ministry, effective April 14.

Bishop Robert J. Carlson appointed ninth Archbishop of Saint Louis

Archbishop-Elect Robert J. Carlson

Pope Benedict XVI announced April 21 the appointment of The Most Rev. Robert J. Carlson as Archbishop of St. Louis. Bishop Carlson is currently Bishop of the Diocese of Saginaw Michigan. He will succeed Archbishop Raymond L. Burke as and will become St. Louis' ninth archbishop (St. Louis had one bishop before becoming a metropolitan archdiocese).

Administrator’s Appointments

Bishop Robert J. Hermann, archdiocesan administrator, has made the following appointments:

REV. RICHARD JESKE, OFM, is appointed senior associate pastor of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, St. Louis.

REV. DENNIS B. ZACHEIS, pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Sullivan, is granted a leave of absence, for reasons of health.
