A funeral Mass for Mercy Sister Sandra Maria Sander was celebrated Nov. 22 at Mercy Center in Frontenac.
Sister Sandra Marie, 77, died Nov. 19. She was a Sister of Mercy for 59 years.
Born in St. Louis, Sister Sandra Marie entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1957 and professed final vows in 1965. She attended Hanley Junior High School and Mercy High School in St. Louis and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Webster University. She was a certified medical technologist.
A funeral Mass for Sister Mary Anne Murphy was celebrated Nov. 28 in the chapel at The Sarah Community in Bridgeton.
Sister Mary Anne, a Franciscan Sister of Mary for 59 years and a retired registered nurse and operating room supervisor, died Nov. 22 at The Sarah Community. She was 85.
Born in St. Louis, she studied nursing at St. John's School of Nursing in St. Louis (affiliated with St. Louis University) and became a registered nurse in 1952; in 1969 she was certified in operating room administration through Queens University and Hotel, also affiliated with St. Louis University.
A funeral Mass for Sister Evelyn Kaminski, OSF, will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in the Lally Room at Mother of Perpetual Help Residence, 7601 Watson Road in Shrewsbury.
Sister Evelyn, 104, died Nov. 15 at Mary Queen and Mother Center in Shrewsbury.
Born in Opole Lubielskie, Poland, her family moved to Weirton, W.Va., where she met the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She entered the community in 1926 and professed perpetual vows in 1934. She received a bachelor's degree from Steubenville University in Steubenville, Ohio.
