The Greater St. Louis Book Fair has awarded the English Tutoring Project a $4,000 grant to support its mission to provide English language acquisition at no charge to the families and the schools it serves. The project, founded in 1998 by 17 congregations of women religious, serves 140 students from 16 countries of origin in seven Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Greater St Louis Book Fair will be held May 4-7 at Greensfelder Recreation Complex at Queeny Park.

Appearances of Mary

Luis Medina shared the story of St. Juan Diego with students at St. Clare of Assisi School in Ellisville. The students participated in an Immaculate Conception Day on Dec. 8, in which they learned about the different places where Marian apparitions have taken place. Mary, known as Our Lady of Guadalupe, appeared to St. Juan Diego in 1531 on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico City.
