CBC Hall of Fame

CBC High School will induct seven men into its Alumni Hall of Fame and name an honorary alumnus at its annual alumni banquet on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the school in Town and Country. The men are Eugene Adam, class of 1948; Larry Arendes, class of 1954; Tyrone Christian, class of 1973; Bob Pisarkiewicz, class of 1951; William Shannahan, class of 1968; Rob Staggenborg, class of 1985; Dr. Lawrence Zeis, class of 1971; and honorary alum Dr. Steven Benz.

Catholics prayed the Rosary for religious liberty at the Cardinal Rigali Center recently.

Praying for liberty

Everyone in the archdiocese is invited to take part the Rosary crusade for religious liberty. The Rosary is prayed from 4-4:30 p.m. every Friday through Nov. 16 in the St. Vincent de Paul Chapel of the Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive in Shrewsbury. Special intentions will be made for each decade, plus one Hail Mary offered for each state and the District of Columbia. Special needs Mass

A special needs Mass will be celebrated at noon Sunday, Oct. 7, at Sacred Heart Church, 17 Ann Ave. in Valley Park. Individuals with special needs who wish to participate in the Mass as a lector, usher, greeter, petition reader or in other functions are asked to contact Ann Blaes at annblaes@hotmail.com or (636) 717-0105. The Mass is being held in conjunction with Disabilities Awareness Month.
