God's mercy

An early spring snow shower spread a blanket of pure white snow across our unsightly, leaf-littered backyard, a reminder of the transformative power of God's grace and how His gentle love caresses even the most callous and cynical among us.

If somehow you missed receiving forgiveness during Lent it's never too late to take advantage of God's life-saving gift of grace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In fact, Jesus is on the cross with His arms outstretched, thirsting for each of us, every day — we only have to ask. And should you believe yourself unworthy or too hardened, Jesus died for everyone, even the most unworthy sinner, and on Easter was resurrected to prove His Father's love and mercy are mightier than any sin.

During this Year of Mercy may we continually ask God to shower us with his forgiveness by frequent reception of the "sacrament of mercy," and allow the grace of his Son's Passion and Resurrection to transform our lives. "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
