Dear Father | How does the Church respond to those 'Catholic' churches?

There are several such congregations here in the archdiocese, each one headed up by a man who was at one time a cleric in good standing with the Catholic Church. None, however, is in good standing anymore, having fallen into at least schism and, most likely, heresy. A faithful Catholic, who truly seeks to know the truth as God proclaims it, will avoid these congregations because no matter how tolerant and "accepting" they seem to be, they lack the power to feed anyone with what the soul truly needs, since they are short on the truth of Christ and lack the authority of the Church.
