Dear Father | Prayer intentions are special fruit of the Holy Mass

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionSend to friendSend to friend Q. Is there a rule on how many Mass intentions a parish may offer on a particular day? A. Traditionally, the Church has understood the Mass to not only be the greatest act of thanksgiving to God, but also the paramount way to intercede for a particular intention. At Mass, the priest, acting in the person of Christ, represents the passion, death and resurrection of Christ in a real way, so that all may be with the Lord in His saving action, and so that the fruits of His passion may be applied to that particular time and place.
