Catholic Charities continues Joplin recovery

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis has helped in the distribution of more than 100 tons of items to people affected by the May 22 tornado in Joplin, Mo., and collected almost $675,000 in funds for disaster relief there. The agency continues to assist people in need in Joplin and people who have been left homeless due to a tornado that hit in Bridgeton and north St. Louis County in April. Brian O'Malley, president of Catholic Charities of the archdiocese, said the agency has assisted in housing the displaced St. Louisans in hotels.
