Send to friendAmericans took pride in the news last week that Joplin, Mo., public schools, some of which were flattened by a massive May 22 tornado, opened for the new school year on time as promised.
The effort came about after an outpouring of concern and assistance of people from throughout the world. The people of the southwest Missouri community are continuing to rebuild housing and businesses destroyed in the deadly tornado.
