Quick-thinking Perryville Boy Scout is real hero

Boy Scout Colt Wahl took the Scout motto, "Be Prepared," to heart when his father fell 20 feet from a deer stand and shattered his ankles. Colt's quick action got emergency help on the scene fast and his father helicoptered from their rural farm for much-needed medical treatment. Colt, a member of Troop 250 chartered to the Perryville Knights of Columbus, was honored May 31 for his actions with the Scout Heroism Award, presented at the Greater St. Louis Area Council's annual meeting and recognition dinner at the St. Charles Convention Center.
