Archdiocese revises guidelines on alcohol at parish events

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionSend to friendSend to friend Archbishop Robert J. Carlson has approved revised guidelines for the use of alcohol at parish functions after extensive consultation with and approval by the Priests' Council. The revised archdiocesan guidelines recognize that there are occasions when it is appropriate to include alcohol as part of parish functions, in accordance with legal requirements and without promoting it during parish activities. Alternative beverages should always be provided "with equal accessibility" and beverages and food containing alcohol must be clearly labeled or identified as such.
