Obituaries | Sr. Mary Evelyn Duvall, OSU
A funeral Mass was celebrated April 29 at Mount St. Joseph Convent of Maple Mount, Ky., for Ursuline Sister Mary Evelyn Duvall, a retired educator.
Sister Mary Evelyn, 88, died April 26 at Mount Saint Joseph. She was in her 70th year as an Ursuline Sister of Mount St. Joseph. She was a native of Sunfish, Ky.
Sister Mary Evelyn was a teacher at Seven Holy Founders School in Affton from 1959-60. She also ministered in Glennonville, Mo., when it was part of the St. Louis Archdiocese, in Kentucky and in New Mexico. Her ministries in New Mexico included being a teacher, a school librarian, and a school registrar.
She enjoyed travel and was known as an excellent cook, seamstress and craft maker.
Survivors include four sisters, Catherine Duvall and Martha Durbin, both of Sunfish, Mary Davis of Leitchfield, Ky., and Frances Heath of Mountain Home, Idaho; and two brothers, Lawrence Duvall of Louisville and William Pius Duvall of Brownsville, Ky.
