Catholic Schools Week celebrated around the archdiocese

Catholic Schools Week was scheduled around the archdiocese this week, with the 120 elementary schools and 28 high schools proudly proclaiming their presence as "Alive in Christ," the vision of Archbishop Robert J. Carlson for Catholic schools. However, the huge winter storm that swept across the area and much of the country put many Catholic Schools Week plans on hold. There were lots of school-related events at parish Masses last weekend and the Jan. 31 kickoff events went on as scheduled. Then sleet and snow closed virtually all the schools for at least two days.
