UPDATED 2:00 pm: Hanging on the wall of Bishop-designate Edward M. Rice’s office is a framed image of the Sacred Heart. It was a gift given to his parents, John and Helen, when they married in 1952. After both of his parents passed away, his older sister Mary Ann had it reframed and gave it to him. “It takes me back to my parents,” Bishop-designate Rice said in an interview with the Review earlier this week. “The love of the heart of Christ has inspired me as a priest and will do so as a bishop.”
