Cardinal Burke now has ties to Roman church, St. Agatha

When Cardinal Raymond L. Burke was elevated to the College of Cardinals this weekend, along came with it a special assignment: head of the Church of St. Agatha of the Goths. New cardinals are assigned a “titular church,” or in the case of Cardinal Burke, a “diaconal titular church,” thus making them members of the Roman diocesan clergy, which is what the first cardinals were.
