Catholic Cemeteries bury more than 2,200 last year

The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of St. Louis buried more than 2,200 individuals during the fiscal year July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010. CALVARY in North St. Louis, with 477 acres, is one of the oldest cemeteries, dating from 1853. It was the busiest cemetery, with 867 burials last year. RESURRECTION in Affton, with 302 acres, was founded in 1929. It was the second busiest, with 771 burials. SACRED HEART in Florissant dates to 1874 and has 14 acres. It had 203 burials last year.
