Father Tom Pastorius believes that all of the problems in the world come down to one thing — people just want to be loved. But sometimes that desire comes with a fear that we’re unlovable. “We fear that somehow when God made us, he made a mistake,” said the associate pastor of St. Mark Parish in Affton. “And if people really knew who we were, they wouldn’t love us. So we try to … steal, manipulate, do all these things to get love.”
