Educators pass on respect life torch with pro-life clubs

Students from Queen of All Saints School in Oakville looked at models of a child’s development within a mother’s womb last week. Children in the first through eighth grades joined for the monthly meeting of the Friends for Life Club, which teaches them about respect for all human life.

As they inspected the tiny models with great curiosity, Jeannine Sinak pointed out to her first- through third-graders why a baby has an umbilical cord. Third-grader Michael Giegling blurted out: "My umbilical cord was in a knot when I was born!" Sinak nodded as she told her students, "that's our form of nutrition" before babies are born.
