Resting on Holy Ground
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet recently marked the closing of a yearlong process in which the community transferred the remains of more than 1,200 fellow sisters from their former cemetery on the grounds of Nazareth Living Center in South County to Resurrection Cemetery in nearby Affton.
Nearly 200 sisters, lay associates and family members of the deceased sisters were present for the prayer service and blessing, held July 31 at Resurrection. Msgr. Dennis Delaney, director of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, presided at the gathering.
