Father Robert Fleiter, pastor of Assumption Parish in Herculaneum, blessed a car after Mass last weekend. Father Fleiter blessed the cars and boats of parishioners after Masses July 24 and 25 in honor of St. Christopher, venerated by many as the patron saint of travelers. For many years the feast of St. Christopher was observed July 25.

Pro-life persuasion

Immaculate Conception Parish in Arnold will host a pro-life Stand To Reason Interactive Series Workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, in Room A of the Parish Center, 2300 Church Road. The free program, "Making Abortion Unthinkable: The Art of Pro-Life Persuasion," will be presented by Jeffrey A. Gibbs, professor of exegetical theology at Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis.
