"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor"
(Ex 20:16; Dt 5:20).

Let your "yes" mean "yes" and your "no" mean "no." Anything more is from the evil one (Matthew 5:37).

In other words, we are not to misrepresent the truth in our relations with others. To His disciples, Jesus taught the unconditional love of truth: Let what you say be simply yes or no.
