The third-graders were practicing their Christmas pageant of Mary and Joseph going to Bethlehem.
The part of the innkeeper was assigned to Terry, who didn't like the part because he came from a hospitable home where visitors were greeted heartily and nobody was ever turned away. Every time Terry practiced he felt bad and almost cried.
