Franciscan Connection's Stone by Stone Project to close, with Restore St. Louis filling in gaps

Lisa A. Johnston

The Franciscan Connection's Stone by Stone Project is closing, and its home-repair work will be assumed by New City Fellowship's Restore St. Louis Work Day Ministry.

The Franciscan Connection's emergency aid, including its shoe voucher, bus pass and utility assistance programs, will continue.

The Stone by Stone Project was organized by Franciscan Brother Donald Lachowicz in 2000. The project has assisted low-income families with minor home repairs. These families are primarily single mothers with children or disabled senior citizens living in substandard housing.
