Everybody loves a sale — especially the one at St. Alban Roe Parish in Wildwood.

The Giant Basement Sale, a parish tradition since 1984, has raised more than $300,000 over the years to help poor residents of Chile and Guatemala, as well as dozens of local charities.

"St. Alban's basement sale brings the world a little closer together," said Tammy Humm Donelson, chairman of the sale and daughter of the event's founder, Marolyn Humm.
