'Little Red Church' packs a big punch
"The Little Red Church by the Highway," as St. Vincent de Paul Parish South of Downtown is known, is more than just a nice place to drop in for Mass, with an extensive outreach and impact on the community.
Vincentian Father Paul (Otto) Schneebeck, pastor of the parish along I-55, said that when he came five years ago, "I thought it would be a sleepy place that does some outreach."
He quickly was proven wrong when visiting the evening meals program and was pushed to "get in there and get to work."
