Father Corapi charges Catholics to 'be not afraid'

Father Corapi gave a blessing to Gary and Michelle Wolk of Arnold and their daughters Bernadette, 1, and Veronica, 4, at the Drury Hotel in Downtown St. Louis April 30. The Wolks are parishioners at Immaculate Conception Parish in Arnold. Many devotees of Father Corapi came the day before his conference to meet him, sign autographs and ask for blessings.

Inspired by the first words Pope John Paul II spoke at the beginning of his papacy, Father John Corapi shared a simple, yet profound message with Catholics in St. Louis last weekend to "be not afraid."

Father Corapi, an internationally known preacher and member of the Society of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity, presented four talks on the theme "Be Not Afraid ... There is Truth." Approximately 7,000 people attended the conference, held May 1 at the Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University in Midtown St. Louis.
