Those struggling with mental illness urged to seek help
In any given year, one in four people will have a diagnosable mental disorder, while one in 17 will have a severe mental illness, according to mental health groups.
"Certainly there is a stigma with mental illness, but I think it's becoming less so. We're aware that lots of people in all walks of life can become depressed or anxious or have even more serious mental illnesses," said Saundra Barker, a licensed clinical social worker at Catholic Family Services, which provides counseling and other programs for individuals and families.
