New Scranton bishop asks all to help him proclaim Gospel message

SCRANTON, Pa. (CNS) -- As Bishop Joseph C. Bambera became the 10th bishop of Scranton April 26, he reminded those who filled St. Peter's Cathedral what the occasion was really about.

"This day is about Jesus -- and the legacy that he left to the world following his death and resurrection," Bishop Bambera told those who filled the cathedral for his episcopal ordination and installation Mass and countless television viewers watching via satellite.
