St. Dominic Savio lends a helping hand to Jesuits in Belize

As a middle-school teacher, Andy Kuhnert is used to being on his toes. But when he went on a mission trip to Belize earlier this month, he learned a lesson in preparing to teach students on the fly.

Kuhnert was part of a group from St. Dominic Savio Parish in Affton who traveled to the Central American country April 18-25 to perform mission work. The group met up with Jesuit Father Dick Perl, a St. Louis native who spent part of his childhood at St. Dominic. For more than two decades, Father Perl has served as an overseas missionary, primarily in Belize.
