It was hard hats galore at the April 21 groundbreaking for the new parish center-gymasium at St. Mark Parish in South St. Louis County. Surrounded by parish children are, from left, Father Thomas Pastorius, associate pastor; Paul Russo, parish building committee chair; principal Jill Burkett; Frank Heckler, parish council president; and Msgr. Patrick Hambrough, pastor. The new building, with 11,864 square feet of space, is being built on the parish school campus on Ripa Avenue. It is scheduled for completion in November. Kozeny Wagner is the general contract.
