Old news is good news for those using archdiocesan Archives

It may have been old news, but it was still good news to Msgr. Nicholas Schneider.

While visiting the Archives of the St. Louis Archdiocese, he found an important piece of Catholic St. Louis' history: a 1947 article announcing the racial integration of all schools in the archdiocese. The discovery helped him to write his book about Cardinal Joseph Ritter.

Like Msgr. Schneider, thousands of people make their own discoveries each year at the Archives, with the help of its director Audrey Newcomer and the archival support staff.
